O2 picks managed services business from collapsed 2e2

O2 has bought the stricken IT company 2e2's managed services business, safeguarding 107 jobs.

The business collapsed yesterday after the administrators failed to find a buyer. O2 said it will use the team to offer design, implementation expertise and managed services. O2's customer services that were formerly run by 2e2 will be brought in-house. The operator ran O2 Unify in a joint venture with the company.

O2's business director Ben Dowd said: 'We now have a truly unified approach to enterprise ICT, from IT security to fixed data networks. We see mobility at the core of our customers’ ICT strategies, which makes us well placed to lead their transformation. During this transitional period we will be focused on ensuring there is no interruption to the service our customers receive.'
