Amdocs launches new VoiP service for companies
Software company Amdocs has launched a new unified communications product, allowing companies to offer messaging, video and voice over IP calling in an app.
Amdocs said the product, which is available through iOS and Android handsets or online, can be branded for companies and also be adapted to add advertising or premium features such as video conferencing. Traditional operators have seen their revenues challenged by the likes of Skype and WhatsApp, which offer similar VoiP services.
Rebecca Prudhomme, vice-president of products and solutions marketing at Amdocs, said: 'Today’s smartphone users are turning to a variety of services to communicate, often at the expense of the service provider. Amdocs Unified Communications is the first brandable, cloud-based solution, offering fast time to market, which allows service providers to leverage their customer relationships to build revenues through metered data packages, premium features and applications.'
