Tech Data Mobile has joined forces with Computer 2000 to launch a major push into new markets.
The strategy sees Tech Data Mobile’s sales and marketing team working much more closely with parent group Computer 2000 to better harness the potential of its 14,000 strong customer base. Currently Tech Data Mobile works with an active base of around 8,500 customers.
Marketing director Michelle Henchoz told Mobile: ‘We can harness Computer 2000’s extensive database and work closely with its business intelligence team, analysing CRM trends and purchasing patterns to target customers outside of mobile.’
She added: ‘Computer 2000 has a huge marketing and sales team. It has 115 sales people in the office as well as its external teams and we are working very closely with them.’Henchoz is also leading a targeted marketing push to Computer 2000’s customer base. ‘It’s about how to talk to them, as there are so many different vehicles in the business, and how to send the relevant message to a specific audience.’
Henchoz said Tech Data Mobile will continue to focus on its traditional channels whilst growing vendor business in other areas. One area in its sights is the public sector. Henchoz said: ‘There is a massive opportunity for us…particularly in education and health, where demand for tablets, educational accessories and durable hard-wearing accessories is growing.’
