Mobile Fun is attempting to accelerate its distribution business after acquiring mobile accessories manufacturer Playfect.
The online accessories retailer revealed its plans to expand its distribution business last October, and the takeover offers the opportunity for Mobile Fun to launch its own range of mobile accessories. The move sees Mobile Fun acquire Playfect's brand, operations and assets including its online presence. It also increases the amount of stock in supply for retailers and Mobile Fun will gain ten extra employees as a result. Playfect’s team in China is seen as a ‘vital strategic asset’ for the retailer to establish sourcing relationships with factories.
Mobile Fun MD, Mohammed Hussain, said: ‘The Playfect acquisition accelerates our ambitious growth strategy as it benefits our existing business while jumpstarting our plans to launch own brand accessories. We now have a fully developed product design, sourcing and quality control capability ready to supply the retail and distribution sectors in both the UK and internationally.
