Maintel has reported financial growth for 2013 as a result of improving margins in mobile and its acquisition of Datapoint.
The Vodafone Gold Partner saw a growth in 10% growth in revenue to £31.1m, while profits before tax increased by 5% to £5.23m. Maintel’s good showing was also a consequence of improved margins from 54% to 63% in its Mobile Division. The target for Mobile Division in 2014 is to increase sales and connections by adding ‘new sales resources’.
The firm also purchased the UK and Ireland operations of Datapoint, which posted revenues of £15.8m up to June 2013. The acquisition of the company cost Maintel £3.5m.
Maintel was also awarded Avaya Technical Partner of the year status after developing its cloud and hosted services.
CEO Eddie Buxton (pictured) said: ‘Whilst competition levels remain high, we are seeing market conditions moderately improve with businesses engaging in discussions to increase investment in their communications infrastructure.
‘Our short-term focus will be on the integration of Datapoint and realising the opportunity that its acquisition has brought to the group to diversify our revenues and significantly increase our presence in new markets.
‘Maintel’s on-going success in acquiring and integrating businesses means that we remain well-positioned and alert to future opportunities.’
