Vodafone Platinum partner Olive Communications has bagged a major deal to provide and manage 600 mobile connections for education, training and publishing provider BPP.
The two year contract, which includes managing the company’s fixed line estate, is part of a wider strategy by BPP to converge their communications.
The move follows rationalisation at BPP which has seen it reduce its offices and increase flexible working. The strategy has seen BPP’s mobile connections increase from 350 to 600 over the past two years.
Olive said the new contract will cut BPP’s monthly call charges by nearly 50% under a new mobile phone plan. The deal also enables BPP to completely refresh its handsets as part of a ‘hardware fund’ facility which allows customers an allotted amount to change or upgrade devices mid-contract.
Olive will also help BPP devise a converged cloud-based voice and data network, to allow BPP to migrate to Mitel soft-phone and Microsoft Lync functionality and connectivity.
Richard Brown, EMEA Voice Services Manager for BPP, which is part of Apollo Group, said the deal will save BPP ‘significant amounts’ and benefit company productivity.
This is Olive’s second contract with BPP. Brown said BPP had chosen Olive initially because its solution ‘shone over the competition.’
He criticised the previous incumbent for offering ‘poor value for money', with account managers who, Brown claimed, 'added little value and just weren’t responsive to our requirements.’
Brown said this latest win for Olive comes in the face of fierce competition, including from a major network operator. He added: ‘Olive are a really dynamic and focused organisation and the people that have recently joined have made a massive impact, taking what was already a very good company to one that I now see as a market leader.
‘The quality and responsiveness of customer service and the proficiency of their account managers are second to none. When this is added to the vision and the ability to help customers future-proof themselves against technology and telecoms changes, it makes for a very potent blend.’
Martin Flick (pictured), CEO at Olive Communications said: ‘We pride ourselves on being obsessed with customer satisfaction. Having existing customers renew with us, despite fierce competition in the market, is the best way to know we are achieving our goals. We’re therefore really pleased to continue the journey with BPP as we ensure they can take maximum advantage of communications convergence, and to help them reach their potential.’
