Exertis Micro-P has overhauled its distribution structure by creating two separate b2b divisions for reseller partners.
The ‘Business to Business Value Added Distributor’ structure will be split into two divisions. ‘Volume’ will be headed up by Exertis Micro-P director Phil Brown (pictured right) and ‘VAD’ will be overseen by Grahame Smee, MD of Cohort Technology, the firm acquired by the distributor last October.
VAD will focus on unified communications, security, specialist software and services. The restructure was born out of the increasingly technical aspects of the sales process. Ian Gilbey’s technical team has over thirty experts on hand to offer knowledge facilitating a more informed sales process.
As a result of the changes sales and technical teams in UC Systems and Security, based in Altham and Stoke respectively, will report to Smee and his team.
Exertis Micro-P UK managing director, Paul Bryan (pictured left), said: ‘We are looking to add more value to what we already offer. We have three sales channels in Retail, B2B and Telco, and we’re promoting services, services, services, all the way through. Grahame’s team has allowed us to change gear in the B2B VAD channel and we’re already seeing some fantastic wins with both vendors and customers. There’s a lot of rhetoric out there about what Value Add Distribution is doing, but I’m just pleased that we are really making a tangible difference in all three channels. It is very exciting. Our challenge is to get out there and let everyone know what is on offer, so we welcome a conversation with any vendor or reseller who is interested in finding out more.’
Grahame Smee added: ‘By combining the reach of Exertis Micro-P with the specialisation of our VAD business, we offer our vendors and reseller partners a unique proposition. As a result, we are already seeing gains in certain growth areas. We have the benefit of some of the ‘best of breed’ vendors in our key focus areas including Forescout, McAfee, Dell Security and Shoretel. We will add more soon to complete our offering.’
