Exertis Micro-P has inked a deal with O2 to provide airtime on its Conect partner portal as part of a major push into the IT channel.
The launch targets Exertis Micro-P’s 9,000 plus IT resellers by offering them O2 connectivity bundled with Microsoft Office 365.
The campaign is being backed by Exertis Micro-P’s Conect business development team which has been doubled in size with the addition of three new BDMs, tasked with driving sales of the bundle to the IT channel.
Speaking to Mobile, Fridolin Engel,(pictured) head of sales for Conect, said bundling Office 365 with O2 connectivity was ‘an absolutely critical move’ in persuading IT resellers to add mobile to their portfolios, adding that O2 ‘is very much supporting us on that path. They have a real appetite for this.’
Engel added: ‘IT resellers are already comfortable with Office 365 and so it is Office 365 which will absolutely drive that conversation and get IT resellers to see the opportunities for selling O2 airtime as well, making them realise it is not such a big leap for them.’
Engel said since launching the campaign early this month interest from IT resellers has been strong.
‘We started the drive the Office 365 message from 1 April and we are getting 30 to 40 IT reseller partners voicing an interest in the offer each day, so the appetite among IT resellers is definitely there.’
The campaign is also being backed by a series of partner days over the next three months. The first event will be in Reading at Microsoft’s offices in Reading.
O2’s new partnership with Conect sees all the major UK mobile networks on the portal, including Vodafone, EE, Orange and T-Mobile.
The Conect portal aims to help IT, mobile and fixed line resellers provide a suite of services to their customers including mobile airtime, hosted services, employee benefit schemes, including BYOD, managed print services and video conferencing via a connections portal.
Engel said: ‘Having O2 on Conect completes the full portfolio of major networks available to Conect partners. This is a great occasion for Conect, marking its first birthday.’
