Telecommunications giant BT has announced that SME customers can use 4G mobile with unlimited WIFI at no extra charge. BT is also offering business customers unlimited access to its 5m WIFI hotspots.
The company's 12-month, SIM-only plan costs £17.50 per month (excluding VAT), coming with 1GB of data, 500 minutes and 500 texts. Meanwhile, its Solo plans come with data bundles of 1GB-10GB per month with unlimited minutes and texts. Companies with employee numbers up to 1,000 can opt for a Mobile Sharer plan - sharing data, minutes and texts between the employees.
Graham Sutherland, chief executive of BT Business, said in a statement that 24% of employees now work regularly out of the office.
'As part of our strategy to offer a portfolio that provides value for money and meets the changing needs of businesses, we’ve designed our new mobile plans to cater for this.'
He continued, 'Our new plans give customers the connectivity they need to help them stay productive when out and about, along with the flexibility to choose a plan that suits their way of working.'
BT Business launched BT One Phone last month with a consumer mobile offering set to be unveiled later this year.
Paolo Pescatore, an analyst with CCS Insight told Mobile that BT's latest offering was very competitive. 'No 4G LTE premium and unlimited BT Wi-Fi at no extra cost is a statement of intent and throws down the gauntlet to rivals,' he said.
'Also, it is the strongest indicator yet of how its consumer offering will look like,' he added.
