O2 Business has announced that former Samsung mobile and IT VP Simon Stanford has joined as head of enterprise sales, responsible for the private sector.
The network said that Stanford would have full responsibility for the O2 Enterprise private sector sales team. O2 said that he would be leading the team to implement and execute O2’s strategy of continuing to grow its ICT and digital portfolio.
Ben Dowd, business director at O2 said: ‘Simon has an impressive track-record of significantly driving business growth, and I feel his experience makes him the ideal choice to lead our private sector sales team. We have huge ambitions to accelerate the growth we have seen in the Enterprise sector over the past few years, and I believe Simon will be instrumental in demonstrating the capabilities of technology for private sector organisations. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.’
Simon Stanford said: ‘O2 is a fantastic brand to work for, which is the main reason I am retuning after five years away. The world has changed over recent years, and businesses are under more pressure than ever to have mobility at the heart of their strategy. This is a fantastic time to be joining the O2 Enterprise team, as I believe we can really help transform UK businesses, showing them how technology can help them work smarter and better serve their customers. I’m excited to address the challenges that lie ahead in this role.’
Stanford replaces Darren Buttrick who has become sales director of Telefonica Global Solutions and will report to Gavin Franks, who heads up O2’s Enterprise team.
