Excalibur boosts expansion by winning contract to connect 1,000 pubs

Excalibur Communications has won a mobile, fixed connectivity and IT managed service contract with Butcombe Brewery, following a prior successful mobile agreement. Recently acquired by the Jersey-based Liberation Group, Butcombe Brewery owns over 1,000 pubs and 18 public houses.

The communication’s firm stated that its main challenge would be working to enhance communication between Butcombe Brewery staff, allowing them to be more efficient when deployed outside the office through the use of tablets to allow office staff to focus on delivering greater customer care.

The contract follows the appointment of Andy Tow as Managing Director at Excalibur Communications in January, in order to increase annual turnover to £25m in the next five years.

Guy Newell, Butcombe Brewery’s Managing Director, commented: ‘When Excalibur first began handling our mobile phones we soon saw the benefits, including a 7% drop in our bills and a marked rise in customer service, the like of which we hadn’t seen from other suppliers. This gave us the confidence to also place our IT with Excalibur, as well as our landlines, which must fuse together effectively as we look to grow our business and be at our best for our customers.’

Newell added: ‘This will make our team on the road far more self-sufficient and free up the office with much more time to focus on customer calls.’
