Carphone sees B2B potential in new iD
Carphone Warehouse’s CEO Graham Stapleton has told Mobile that he believes the brand’s new MVNO iD has ‘huge potential’ in the B2B market.
Speaking at the launch of the new service, Stapleton said that the brand would look to move into this space once it had established itself in the consumer market: ‘We think this has huge potential, not just in the consumer space but in the b2b side too. You’ll see us moving into both the b2b and the home side after we’ve managed to launch and become a successful part of the consumer platform. Our focus will be to make sure the consumer business is in the right place, that we’ve launched everything – not just the platform – and once that is done we’ll move away and look at some other new areas such as b2b.
‘We’ll be the best value SIM only, the best value 24-month contract, the best for 4G. We will also be the best value on a 12-month contract 4G tariff when we launch. We’ve chosen to highlight the 12-month deal is because there aren’t many contracts like that in the market now. What this says is that we’ll be best value on the things that everybody sells, but that we’ll also be giving customers what they’ve been asking us for, which is the 12-month contract. This will be significant, especially for the tech savvy and those who want to change handsets frequently.’
