Tech Data Mobile has launched a ‘compete services ecosystem’ in a move to help dealers and retailers differentiate in a ‘maturing market place’.
The distributor claims the new ‘mobility life cycle’ platform will enable partners to ‘extend their value proposition and fuel business growth’. Tech Data also announced it has formed a ‘strategic partnership’ with Total communications services to provide customisable airtime packages.
The new airtime package will be offered alongside a trade-in and buy-back scheme, extended warranty and finance and leasing options. The distributor claims that its partnership with Total will offering ‘on-boarding’ for customers, in a move to target those with ‘little or no mobile experience’.
Simon Smale, business development and services director, explained the evolution of mobile means that more players are entering the market. He said: ‘The market is maturing fast and smartphones are increasingly being used as fully-integrated business tools as well as personal devices.
‘‘Mobile’ has now evolved to ‘mobility’; more IT resellers are becoming involved in the market and looking at where they can add value; mobile phone dealers and retailers meanwhile, are looking for ways to extend their portfolio, differentiate from their competitors and drive incremental revenues and profits.
‘Our services ecosystem is designed to meet these challenges head-on. We have worked hard to find the right partners in key areas and we believe we now have a market-leading set of options that will enable our customers to plot a very clear and progressive business development pathway.’
The announcement follows Samsung’s distribution decision to retain Tech Data Mobile as a partner. The distributor will offer the full range of Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets on its mobility lifecycle programme.
