Onecom secures Co-op deal in latest unified comms push
Unified comms dealer Onecom has secured a deal with The Co-operative, providing internet and voice connectivity to over 450 retail outlets.
The £3m contract follows a number of recent unified comms wins for the Vodafone platinum partner, following a restructuring aimed making unified comms 'the heart of the business'.
Onecom will provide the Central England Co-operative with connectivity across its retail stores, head offices and distribution centre over a three year period.
James Bannister, solutions director at Onecom, explained the contract follows the company’s plans expand into unified comms. He said: ‘This is a landmark deal for us and cements Onecom’s position as a leader in the field of unified communications.
‘The solution we will be providing for Central England Co-operative is highly innovative with minimal latency and very high resilience – it’s a technical showpiece for this kind of network in the retail space. Central England Co-operative has around 9,000  members of staff, and for an organisation this size it is crucial that networks are secure and reliable and that there are effective fail safes in place.’
