Tech Data expand wearables range to unlock ‘huge potential’

Tech Data Mobile will expand its presence in the wearables market by offering a tracking device to its UK resellers and retailers.

The distributor explained the Trackimo personal GPS tracking device will open up new areas of business, claiming it will enable resellers to attract new customers. Tech Data Mobile said it will focus on boosting its wearables portfolio to take advantage of the ‘huge potential’ in the market.

David Brassington, vendor director, said that the popularity of wearables is starting to gather pace, explaining that retailers and resellers need to introduce customers to the benefits of the technology.

He said: ‘Just about every individual and business will be able to make use of this compact, discrete and affordable device, so the potential is absolutely huge. The Trackimo concept is very easy to understand and forms part of the whole wearables revolution that is now starting to gather pace.’

‘This device presents retailers and resellers with an opportunity to show their customers just how useful, dynamic and practical personal and wearable technology can be. We have a broad reach into the market and extensive distribution capabilities across Tech Data, so we’re perfectly placed to assist both vendors and customers to make the most of the massive potential in wearable technology’.

Tech Data Mobile explained that the tracking device will be aimed at both b2b and consumer markets, enabling users to track a vehicle, pet or a colleague or family member, such as children or elderly relatives who are travelling alone.
