Exertis is confident that its ‘exclusive’ relationships within the smart home market will be enough to give its reseller partners the advantage.
The distributor has become the latest to target the connected home market after Brightstar launched its ‘Smart Living’ service last month. Brightstar’s drive into the market uses vendor relationships to deliver ‘unique support services’ to products launched on its new connected home platform.
Exertis will use its partnerships to give resellers a way into the smart home market, giving them access to what it claims is a broad range of products that its vendor partners can offer. The distributor claims it will be ‘on hand to assist with the entire process’.
Exertis appoints COO to lead logistics drive
Rod Slater, head of Smart Home Technology at Exertis, believes Exertis’ broad portfolio when it comes to smart home partners will help them stand out in the market. He said: ‘Exertis boasts the broadest portfolio across the Smart Tech category, with a number of brands signed exclusively to us in the UK. We have been building our expertise, knowledge and portfolio in this sector since its inception, and we are now connecting this up to provide a truly relevant reseller proposition.
‘Smart Tech is an assisted, consultative sale. It’s about the next generation of retail, which involves engaging with the customer and learning about what they need, then finding a solution to fit that. This is a technological journey for the customer, and also for the channel; you are tying your customer into an ecosystem and into your expertise, and Exertis is on hand to assist with that entire process.’
