Exertis VAD managing director Grahame Smee departs

Exertis has announced that Grahame Smee will be stepping down as managing director of Exertis VAD Solutions.

Smee will be depart the company after almost a year and a half in the role. He was previously managing director of Cohort Technology for over seven years, which was acquired by Exertis in 2013 to boost its existing Value Add Distribution (VAD) business.

Exertis appoints COO to lead logistics drive

Smee was responsible for managing the integration of this company with the distributor, with Group MD Gerry O’Keeffe describing his role as one that has been instrumental in helping the VAD business grow.

He said: ‘There’s no doubt that Grahame has been instrumental in combining our existing VAD business with that of the Cohort business, to create a dynamic and growing division that has flourished to become a key part of Exertis’ IT proposition.

The announcement follows on from Exertis’ plans to use utilise its ‘exclusive’ partnerships within the smart home market to better enable their resellers and dealers to enter the market. The distributor became the latest to announce a push into the connected home space after Brightstar launched a platform earlier this year to deliver ‘unique support services’ alongside products.
