Mobile phone recycler Redeem is unifying its brands under one name as part of a major rebrand.
The company announced that its corporate recycling arm, named emc Europe, will continue to function under the Redeem brand name. According to Chairman Trevor Bayley, this marks the next stage in Redeem’s strategy to become ‘easily recognisable’.
‘We are a global leader in the re-commerce of mobile phones for both consumers and businesses,’ he said. ‘It is important to us that we continue to expand under a unified brand which is easily recognisable. With the newly redesigned website and rebrand now complete, we are well positioned to drive further growth in 2016 and beyond.’
Redeem currently uses its recycling brands, such as consumer-facing Envirofone, to sell and recycle pre-owned mobile phones, a market which is expected to hit £11.7bn by 2016.
The company used the last year to make strides the second-hand space, setting up an Envirofone online shop and turning its focus onto pre-owned wearables. Redeem also partnered with Three to launch the network’s recycling proposition.
