Tech Data Mobile target niche markets for Jawbone’s UK expansion
Tech Data Mobile has landed a distribution deal with Jawbone to expand the wearable brand across different industries.
The partnership will see Tech Data Mobile distribute Jawbone’s UP range of fitness devices to a host of specialist retailers, both online as well as bricks-and-mortar. This will target fashion, pharmaceutical and insurance sectors to drive consumer awareness and demand.
The distributor explained there is particular interest in the insurance market, where fitness devices are being used to track the health patterns of consumers.
Michael Cain, Tech Data’s business development manager for Wearable Technologies, believes these niche markets hold ‘vast potential’ for Jawbone’s range of wearable devices.
‘Tech Data will be drawing on all its experience and capabilities in the consumer electronics sector to build Jawbone’s presence in the market and meet the diverse needs of retailers. We will also be focusing on specialist outlets and websites, such as those selling fashion, pharmacy and health products, to open up new areas of growth potential. We believe there is vast potential in this area of the market for Jawbone.’
