24 Seven has announced an exclusive partnership with Kazam to bring its national roaming service to the taxi industry.
The unified comms dealer will incorporate Jump, its national roaming SIM card, into two of Kazam’s mobile devices. The SIM card switches between O2, Vodafone and EE’s mobile network, depending which signal is strongest.
Kazam’s devices are already used within the taxi industry, with 24 Seven looking to take advantage of this to move into the space. Up until now the dealer has been focused on the b2b and reseller channel, an area which MD David Samuel told Mobile last year holds huge potential.
Andy Lee, Kazam’s UK and Ireland country manager explained that the new partnership will enable private hire taxi firms to stay connected when on the road.
He said: ‘If taxi professionals lose connection, it can be totally debilitating for their business. When they slip into a mobile black-spot, or if their network fails, that can make a real difference to profitability.
‘Taxis need to stay connected for voice and data more of the time, from the point of view of accurate fares, ensuring reliable directions and not least from a safety point of view. When you combine the benefits of the Jump SIM with Kazam’s unique proposition, free screen replacement, 3 year warranty and Kazam Rescue, it is a truly compelling solution.’
