Azzurri Comms CEO hails ‘remarkable year’ as profits increase

Azzurri Communications CEO has hailed 2015 as a ‘remarkable year’ for the business, driven by the industry shift towards cloud.

The company’s 2015 financial results revealed a 16% year on year (yoy) increase in demand for cloud based communications, boosting gross yoy profits by 3%.

This demand has seen deployment of on premise solutions decrease, resulting in a revenue decline of 3% from the previous year. Despite this CEO Chis Jagusz (pictured) expressed confidence Azzurri is well positioned to deliver cloud based solutions, predicting the demand will only continue in 2016.

He said: ‘By all our measures of success, 2015 was a remarkable year. Our growing profitability reflects our customers’ shift towards cloud-based communications – a trend that we are perfectly equipped to deliver on.’

‘Unsurprisingly, enterprises are keen to take advantage of cloud-based communications. These have now proven themselves as a viable route to greater flexibility and reduced costs. With our track record in successful projects, our own investments in the underlying technology and our impressive service credentials, we are ideally placed to serve this growing demand.’

‘Transformative’ 2015

The results follow from a year of restructuring and new business wins for Azzurri, securing a partnership with EE to sell services alongside the O2 ones it already provides. The business also made a number of efficiency savings to improve its financial status, while also clinching a number of public sector wins.

According to Jagusz, the company’s success over the last year has been driven by the right strategic decisions. Azzurri is now focused on delivering services around unified communications, an area the business has previously described to Mobile as a future growth area.

Jagusz said: ‘The story behind our financial performance is that we have made the right strategic decisions and are offering our customers the communications services they need. 2015 was not just about new business and innovation. We have also focused on service delivery – a vital component of successful cloud-based UC.

Gross margin might be up 3% but with EBITDA down 14% I am not sure I would call it "remarkable"? Lets not forget Azzurri in 2012 was a £123m business ...
