Ingram Micro changes UK chief in top level shake up
Ingram Micro has brought back former UK chief Matt Sanderson to head up the distributor’s business in the country.
Sanderson will reprise his role as country chief executive of UK & Ireland. He previously held the position from 2010 to 2013 before he took on his current role as Vice President and MD of Ingram Micro Australia.
The top level shake-up will see Sanderson take over from former boss Brent McCarty who oversaw the UK business for over three years. McCarty will head back to the UK to oversee Ingram’s global sales initiative.
During McCarty’s time at the distributor, the business underwent a significant European restructure with a number of staff jumping ship to rivals as a result. Speaking to Mobile at the time, McCarty said the changes were necessary to ‘de-layer’ the business and bring its range of mobile services all together. Ingram Micro continued this with the recent acquisition of IT specialist Comm-care to bolster its UK services.
Gerhard Schulz Executive Vice President & Global Group President commented: ‘We congratulate both Matt and Brent in their new roles and look forward to the continued development of Ingram Micro UK under Matt’s leadership. We cannot thank Brent enough for his commitment and believe his prior experience has fully prepared him to head up our global sales initiative’.
