Hampshire based unified comms provider Onecom has received cloud product and services partner Mitel’s Gold Partner Status. The company also recently received Samsung Premium Partner Status and Vodafone Total Communications Partner Status in December 2016.
The award follows the Onecom’s 2016 focus and investment in boosting its cloud services offering, and recognises the dealer’s knowledge of Mitel’s systems, services and products.
Nick Aikman, channel sales director at Mitel, said: ‘Onecom’s knowledge of Mitel technology is matched by its long and successful track record in helping organisations of all sizes benefit from Mitel unified communications solutions.
Darren Ridge, Onecom CEO added ‘We share Mitel’s philosophy of offering seamless, cost-efficient cloud solutions that give businesses the edge in today’s competitive, connected world. Mitel’s products and services are a perfect fit for Onecom and I am delighted that our expertise has been recognised with this Gold award.’
Onecom manages over 300,000 Vodafone connections from offices across the UK. Making their predictions for 2017, Ridge told Mobile that Onecom expects to further expand their cloud services customers through the fibre rollout, stating: ‘The year 2017 is going to be all about speed – not just data connection speeds, but also the pace at which businesses can react to a rapidly changing environment. Those which do adapt will survive, but others will struggle to keep up.
‘At the forefront of this change will be the widespread adoption of full fibre broadband, which is increasingly becoming a necessity rather than a luxury.
‘Currently only two per cent of UK addresses are connected to a full fibre line – but I expect that figure to be a lot higher by the end of the year, supported by the investment in broadband infrastructure announced in the government’s Autumn Statement and by innovative partnerships such as Onecom’s offering with CityFibre.
‘These superfast connections have transformational potential, allowing businesses to access ever more powerful cloud services which give them the ability to evolve as the technology does. This in turn will enable truly seamless remote working, driving efficiencies and bringing costs down.’
