Colin Sarratt quit his job as sales director of Brightstar last night due to family reasons.
His departure has been mooted by insiders for some time given undisclosed personal circumstances.
Brightstar had recently lost its European business development director, Christina Meade, as well as Phil Sambrook, who was the dealer/channel director.
Sarratt joined in June this year when he left European Telecom after a 10-year stint as sales director. He was drafted in to build relationships with networks, multiple retailers and virtual networks.
Brightstar’s European president, Rod Millar, told Mobile: ‘I wish Colin and his family my very best. And at some stage in the future, it would be great to work with him again.’
A replacement for Sarratt is apparently not a pressing priority for Brightstar, which has a strong UK team consisting of Richard Baxendale, MD, Gareth Goddard, purchasing and product manager, John Doughty, commercial director, Will Gulliver, operations manager and Simon Charters, finance director.
The company has said it has the back office infrastructure of its partner Tech Data, as well as Tech Data’s 120-man salesforce.
Rebecca Harle is a recent arrival at Brightstar who joins as European sales director for accessories. She has just finished a period on garden leave having left her position as sales director at Dextra.
Sarratt said: ‘We built a strong team with some great people. I have no doubt Brightstar will be a force to be reckoned with, and I wish the team all the very best of luck and thank them for their support.’
