The forum focused on updating and informing clients of the latest mobile data strategies and solutions to enable them to play a consultative role in their customers’ businesses and help provide them with an end-to-end communication solutions package.
The event was held at the Stapleford Park country house hotel in Leicestershire. Many of the networks chose to focus on the potential for quality customers in the SOHO and SME market, and the lucrative opportunities that lie in the mobile data market.
The data market in the UK is growing at a rapid rate, and is expected to be worth £1.3 billion by 2009, according to data consultant and Mobile Data Association director David Lock, who opened the Data Forum. Despite ongoing industry rumours of the shrinking b2b market, all speakers focused on the profitable opportunities that lie in the sector. These centre on providing customers with a single source of converged solutions and building a consultative partnership – an element that customers are increasingly beginning to demand.
Avenir Telecom’s managing director Tanny Price, said: “This market continues to develop at a rapid pace, so it is important that our clients feel confident dealing with the range of solutions on offer. By gathering our network partners, manufacturers and clients together, we can share knowledge to provide answers that help our clients to provide the highest level of consultative service and enjoy close working partnerships with their customers.
