Mobile distributors have also targeted 20:20’s exclusive supply deal with Asda, after the supermarket revealed that it wants to see its online non-food business exceed sales of £1bn over the next three years.

its own Asda Mobile-branded virtual network last
year.

Craig Thirkell of Asda Mobile said mobiles were ‘in the middle of the plans’, following healthy Christmas sales.

Thirkell also added that over Christmas, Asda Mobile’s offer of a free Nokia 2310 with £20 of airtime shifted 40,000 handsets.
