Brightstar has snapped up the sales and purchasing team at Unique, Mobile can reveal.
It comes as Unique’s administrators Chantrey Vellacott went back into Unique after it had been discharged by a judge on 18 February.
The 20-strong sales team had their first day at Brightstar today (Wednesday), swapping Abingdon near Oxford for Basingstoke in Hampshire.
Brightstar has had several comings and goings in its sales team since it first started trading last year.
Brightstar has been using the sales operation of joint venture partner and IT distributor, Computer2000, part of Tech Data.
It now has its own dedicated sales team, led by new sales director Jo Bennett and purchasing manager Anne-Marie Mooney, but doesn’t include Unique’s commerical chief David Hinc.
It offers some welcome news for staff at Unique who have suffered an anxious few months with a firm of accounts placed in charge of Unique’s parent company over alleged tax irregularities.
Since then Unique’s CEO Andy Tow left the business, and staff were locked out of the building for three weeks and suffered a two-week delay on their wages.
