Mainline MD explains sales and marketing director exit
Mainline’s managing director Andrew Boden has revealed that Darryl Brunt left the company after he had difficulties with adapting to the mobile industry.
The former sales and marketing director recently exited by mutual consent after ten months in the role. Boden said: ‘Darryl’s FMCG sales management experience didn’t really translate as we had initially hoped into the mobile industry.’
Boden admitted that the company was finding it difficult to find the right calibre of sales person because of a lack of sufficiently skilled candidates.
‘It’s tricky. Traditionally, we have been an industry of order takers, not sales people. As many of our dealer customers have found for themselves, quality candidates are few and far between. We are now expanding our sights to include people from industries where we see synergies with our own.’
The Mainline MD also said that the company is looking to expand both its sales team and its product and service portfolio.
‘Mainline is Orange’s largest b2b distributor by some considerable distance and it is my intention that we remain in that position.’
The company has recently expanded its dealer base with around 55 new additions since September.
