Unique Distribution’s trading name, telephone lines and website have been bought by Computer 2000, a joint venture partner of Brightstar. The deal does not include any stock.
As reported in the last issue of Mobile, Computer 2000 was understood to have been the first company to register an interest in the intellectual property rights associated with Unique, with a £150,000 bid.
Accountant David Ingram, who was tasked with overseeing the sale of the distributor, confirmed that the sale would be finalised over ‘the next few days’. He would not comment on the final amount paid by Computer 2000.
Former Unique Distribution sales director Jo Bennett, who left the Unique to join Brightstar, is understood to have been involved in the deal.
The remaining assets of stock, motor vehicles and the company’s premises in Hayes are still up for sale.
