Mainline: 'Dealer account enquiries into have trebled'
Orange distributor Mainline Digital Communications has reported a ‘significant and substantial’ increase in the number of new account enquiries it is receiving from dealers concerned about the financial stability of their current suppliers.
Over the last four weeks, Mainline says the number of new enquiries it has received have almost trebled – from an average of 14 to 37 per week.
The distributor attributes some of the increase to the launch of its new ‘Colours of India’ promotion, in association with Orange and Nokia.
Managing director Andrew Boden (pictured) said: ‘There’s no doubt that the recent media coverage of certain distributors in financial straits has had a big impact on the dealer community.
‘The big issue for dealers is the security of their commission payments. Mainline is viewed as a ‘safe pair of hands’ in this regard and that is now being reflected in our enquiry numbers.’
