Data Select’s Platinum Club for dealers and manufactures celebrated its first anniversary at the Hilton Metropole on 9 October.
The Platinum Club was set up to provide a ‘virtual direct relationship’ with manufacturers and dealers. Its membership has grown over the past year to 33 dealers and seven manufacturers.
The day was brimming with presentations from manufacturers, designed to clue up dealers on their business and product line for the next three to five months.
Presentations were given by Samsung, Nokia, LG, Sony Ericsson, Microsoft and GoHello.
Membership to the club gives access to services such as partner pricing, marketing support, field training, sample handsets, a quarterly conference and the support Platinum Club Account Manager.
George McPherson, the club's chief executive officer, said: ‘We said a year ago that our key accounts strategy, of which the Platinum Club is an integral part, was the future for mobile distribution. It’s clear that having listened to manufacturers and dealers we’ve got it right.’
