Ingram Micro's head of mobility Darren Seward leaves company
Ingram Micro’s head of mobility, Darren Seward, has left the company for ‘personal reasons’.
It is not yet known who will replace Seward in the role or whether the position will be filled directly.
Seward is thought to be considering his options over his next career move, having worked at the company for ten years in various roles including sales, marketing and product management.
Seward headed up the company’s software business for four years and due to the similarity in processes and synergy of products, he took responsibility for mobile business two years ago. Within that area, he has been charged with accelerating the convergence of mobile and IT sectors.
Ingram Micro, the world’s largest IT distributor, has been eyeing the mobile industry for further expansion opportunities of late. Its customer accounts include Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4U and Tesco.
Ingram Micro applied for the Nokia business distribution license, but discovered in October last year that it had lost out to Brightpoint.
