Shebang bags exclusive on ‘Land Rover’ phone
Shebang will have exclusive rights to a new ‘durable’ Land Rover phone by Sonim, available from 22 June.
The Land Rover S1 by Sonim, a handset aimed at consumers that work in extreme conditions and enjoy outdoor activities, has been launched on Orange.
Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes (pictured with the land Rover S1) headed the launch of the new phone on Monday (15 June).
The model follows recent ‘tough’ handsets such as Data Select’s ‘JCB Toughphone’ and Samsung ‘M110 Solid’.
The Land Rover S1 is waterproof, sandproof, dustproof and includes a two-megapixel camera with a built-in flash. It also has GPS capability and one of the most powerful antennae available.
Bob Plaschke, CEO of Sonim Technologies, told Mobile: ‘It’s like a Land
Rover; very durable.’
He added: ‘Land Rover produce only the highest quality craftsmanship and the affiliation to the brand will help. The brand conveys what the phone aspires to.’
Neil Henderson, head of relationship development at Shebang, said: ‘There
have been lots of people driving the vehicles. We have even had the Lara
Croft vehicle and the Land Rover that Sir Ranulph Fiennes drove across the Antarctic in.’
