20:20 Mobile partners Halfords on handsets
20:20 Mobile has partnered Halfords to supply handsets for its 100 top stores, in the retailer’s first move into the mobile market.
The distributor has been supplying prepay handsets to the in-car technology retailer, on a trial basis in various stores since the end of 2008.
The new deal extends 20:20 Mobile’s current supply contract with the retailer for accessories.
Halfords' new retail and online move to mobile will focus on the sat nav and music capabilities of the handsets.
20:20 Mobile's managing director, James Browning, said: ‘We have worked hard to understand Halfords’ strategic direction and develop a range that will drive sales and educate the consumer on how a range of functions and services, such as sat nav, can be converged through one device.’
Halfords’ category manager, Chris Corbin, said: ‘We have worked closely with 20:20 Mobile to deliver this project within our required timescales. We have worked to deliver a mobile phone proposition online and in store that complements our strength as the leading retailer of handsfree car solutions.’
