Shebang gives dealers £430 commission for Land Rover handset
Shebang dealers are being offered commission payments in excess of £400 on Orange’s exclusive Land Rover handset.
The Land Rover S1 (pictured) was launched in June and will secure dealers a handset bonus, tariff commission, as well as marketing, volume and Land Rover bonuses.
Dealers will receive £430 in commission, which translates to a margin of £233 on the Orange Solo 30 business tariff, for every 24 month connection they make.
The rugged handset, aimed at builders and consumers who enjoy outdoor activities, is the first phone Shebang has offered to dealers.
By comparison, other distributors are offering £230 commission on Orange handsets, and connections only achieve around half the margin available on the Land Rover phone.
Shebang’s sales director, Julian Burton, said the exclusive nature of the deal made it unique in the market place. He added that Shebang was the driving force behind establishing the incentives, but it had worked closely with its partners Orange and Land Rover.
He said: ‘Currently, sales volumes are where we want them to be and we have had lots of interest and purchases from people we haven’t seen for a while.
‘This is unique, there is no other exclusive branding of this calibre with all parties – manufacturer, licensee and network – involved.’
Some dealers said the Solo 30 business tariff offered on the phone is ‘one of the most competitive deals out there’.
However, one London based dealer said: ‘It is a great commission, but the problem is, it’s only available on one handset.’
The Land Rover handset was launched by Sir Ranulph Fiennes in June and is available through Tesco on contract and Sim-free.
