Orange's £12m accessories contract handed to nine distributors

Orange has chosen a ‘multi-supplier strategy’ that includes nine distributors for its £12m accessories contract.

The UK only accessories contract is for the non-exclusive supply of a range of accessories from phone socks to more conventional chargers, batteries, speakers and Bluetooth headsets.

The deal will cover supply into Orange’s direct channels: stores, website, telesales and corporate. The contract, which is renewed every two years, was previously handled by Data Select and Avenir.

An Orange spokeswoman said: ‘We have chosen a multi-supplier strategy to ensure we have a wide range of accessories to support our strong device portfolio. The following companies are on our roster: 20:20, Kondor, Data Select, Avenir, Strax, Brightstar, Westcoast, Shebang and Chameleon Group.’

Orange would not comment on which distributor would cover each specific area that  the contract covers.
