O2 dealers trial ‘joined up’ service
O2’s ‘joined up’ communications service is currently undergoing a ‘managed launch’, with 20 partners in place to trial the service.
O2 head of SME sales David Plumb told Mobile that he plans to have 100 partners actively selling the product by 1 November.
The operator announced the new service, which allows dealers to sell mobile, fixed line, broadband and data to customers, in September.
O2 channel business managers are now touring the country to fully brief potential partners.
Plumb said: ‘We are carrying out a “managed launch” during October, by trialling the experience to make sure that it is good enough. We want to sell on our service proposition and during the trial we will iron out any particular challenges.’
Dealers will be able to earn commission in two ways once they start selling the product – they will be offered a ‘joined up communication’ bonus when they sell to existing mobile customers and they can earn revenue share from the fixed-line products.
O2’s centre of excellence partner, Uplands, is one of five dealers currently trialling the new proposition.
Uplands MD Paul Hooper said: ‘We have been selected to trial the full fixed-line offering – one of the biggest turning points in the last 10 years because the timing is perfect.’
Hooper said the new offering will provide ‘a fantastic internal growth opportunity’, allowing the company to focus on the existing customer base while offering more services. Uplands will also be ‘tweaking’ its website to ensure that customers are aware of the wider set of services beyond just mobile.
