Nokia to pull Brightpoint's b2b deal, say sources

Industry sources claim that Nokia is to terminate its B2B contract with Brightpoint.

Sources told Mobile that Brightpoint’s deal to distribute Nokia devices, services, accessories and software across the UK has ended.

The deal was forged in October last year.

One source said: ‘Brightpoint has been struggling with forecasting and with hitting the numbers needed.’

One industry observer said: ‘The problem is that Nokia has no idea of the actual size of the B2B market. It is nowhere near as big as it was.’

Another observer said: ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if Brightpoint wants out. Nokia wants unrealistic volumes and targets.’

Both Nokia and Brightpoint were unavailable for comment.
