O2 to add broadband and IT to ‘Joined Up’ converged service
O2’s distributors and dealers with access to its ‘Joined Up’ service are anticipating the addition of fixed-line broadband to the package in April.
The converged business offering, announced in September, was recently trialled with a small number of O2 partners before being rolled out to more.
O2 head of SME sales David Plumb told Mobile he is hoping 100 partners will be selling the service by the end of 2009.
When the announcement was made, O2 said it would be offering IT consultant services and broadband as part of the package.
However, resellers of the service can currently only provide mobile and fixed line.
O2’s Joined Up converged services package currently gives business customers access to mobile and fixed-line services on one bill.
Vodafone and O2 are currently going head to head in the converged business market. Vodafone will also offer broadband when it starts to sell its package to a wider range of dealers.
O2 dealers reported they are happy with the service so far, with some claiming the landline rates are ‘phenomenally good’.
One dealer said: ‘The response [to Joined Up] has been very good so far, customers are really keen on the proposition. O2 are planning to add business broadband in April next year and I think it will complete the package.’
Another source said: ‘The more products you add the better it is for the customer, but the processes need to be robust.’
O2 said it had ‘nothing further to add’ to the earlier announcement of Joined Up in September.
