Data Select manager joins Fonehouse
Data Select Platinum Club chief Sunny Ratnam has left to join Fonehouse as marketing manager after two and a half years at the company.

Ratnam will lead Fonehouse's marketing drive for its franchise programme, as it looks to double store numbers in 2010.

The company is planning to increase its retail footprint from 50 to 100 stores by the end of this year, with 11 stores opening over the next three months. Three of those will open within the next two weeks.

Ratnam will report to operations director Stuart Ferguson and will initially work closely with Fonehouse MD Clive Bayley.

Bayley said the new marketing manager role was added to complement the company's existing sales manager and commercial manager roles.

He added: 'Both Fonehouse and Data Select are pleased with his appointment as it strengthens our working together and will create a stronger franchise partner support program for Fonehouse.'

Data Select will shuffle its marketing department as a result of Ratnam's departure, with marketing executive Claudio Da Rocha promoted to fill the position of marketing manager at the company.

In addition to Ratnam's role, Fonehouse has made a number of appointments to continue strengthening its franchise scheme.

New recruits include Ben Roberts who will join as website support, Steven Sandilands in shop-fitting and Zibi Matkowski, who has moved internally from the retail division to a new role of systems and procedures training around partner stores. The independent retailer will also be adding more staff in its partner commission team.

Last year, Fonehouse reached its target of 50 franchise stores.
