Shebang wins Samsung accessories deal

Shebang wins Samsung accessories deal

Shebang has won a deal to distribute Samsung’s new range of accessories through its partner network.

Shebang will introduce Samsung accessories to all its online partners, including Amazon, Tesco, and Mobile Fun, as well as Shebang owned sites and its retail stores.

The win is the first tier one vendor added by Shebang, marking a step change in its approach to the market.

The distributor will handle all product set up and life-cycle management for the mobile accessories range, which includes Bluetooth headsets, cases, speakers and in-car chargers.

It is thought the deal is on the verge of being expanded to Samsung’s MP3, laptop, TV and mobile range.

Product changes, compatibility information, new product introductions and stock allocations, and marketing support and promotions will be provided as part of the contract.

Sales of the accessories range will be driven using Shebang’s Sellfone 3G EPOS system, which is installed in more than 500 UK mobile phone dealerships, including JAG and Get Connected.

Automatic stock replenishment, virtual ordering, direct fulfilment and live reporting of sales out data will be available, while an ‘Associated Stock’ feature will provide store staff with a prompt at point of purchase to sell a Samsung Originals accessory with every Samsung handset.

Iain Humphrey, managing director of Shebang, said: ‘Through our differentiated approach which focuses on end-to-end provision and customer experience rather than traditional box-shifting, we firmly believe that we can help Samsung reach an even wider customer base and be a successful long-term partner for the future.’

Joint promotions will be run for Samsung accessories and handsets, and Samsung branded FSDU/POS units, posters and leaflets placed in Shebang and Sellphone stores.

Meanwhile, price competitiveness will be monitored against other original accessory manufacturers to ensure that Samsung occupies the top spots.

Simon Stanford, head of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, said: ‘The accessories market is expanding and we’re seeing increasing demand from customers for everything from speakers and phone socks, to Bluetooth headsets and batteries.

‘It’s therefore important that we expand our already successful distribution network to associate Samsung accessories with handsets to ensure we’re providing our customers with the choice they demand. I am confident this new partnership will provide incremental business to Samsung with the distribution of our accessories through Shebang’s extensive partner network.’
