Daisy’s acquisition of Fone Logistics will add channel partners and make the company one of the largest distributors in the UK, daisy CEO Matthew Riley told Mobile today (10 June).
He said: ‘We have seen a lot of “box shifters” out there. One of the things we have as a group is unified communications. It will add channel partners and we will be one of the largest distributors in the UK. We will offer a good service, with multiple products.’
Now that the sale is complete, Daisy will hive off the 3 business. Riley said: ‘Ian (Gillespie) will run that as a different entity. He will be an ambassador for Daisy. 3 didn’t fit into our particular plans.’
The company has been speaking to Vodafone ‘and the others’ and ‘will be a launch pad for new products’, said Riley
Meanwhile, Riley could not confirm that there would be no redundancies at Fone Logistics as a result of the purchase, but said: ‘Some of Fone Logistics’ staff will move to 3 and others will be integrated into the rest of the business. We bought Fone Logistics for its skill set in the business.’
Daisy has 1,100 employees, up from a two-man start-up, and 220 employees this time last year. Riley said: ‘It’s all about growth – we enjoy growing.
‘We think this will be the start of consolidation. People need to offer products or they will look to be acquired.
‘The clear message is, it cements our relationships with O2, Vodafone and Orange, The next acquisition will be ‘something in data’, he added.
