The Chameleon Group sues Bury UK
Car kit distributor The Chameleon Group has launched legal proceedings against its rival, Bury UK, and Rod Lewis, a former director.
The Chameleon Group is alleging that Bury UK has ‘dishonestly assisted and conspired with Lewis to wrongfully sell products to customers of Chameleon that included the same products as those covered by the distribution contract'.
Chameleon won an injunction to stop Bury from launching a distribution arm last year, as exclusively reported by Mobile.
The legal proceedings initiated this time continue to revolve around the distribution of Bury products.
Chameleon is seeking to make Chameleon liable for all profits made by Bury since January 2009 or 'damages from Bury (UK) for conspiring with Mr Lewis to cause damage to it and for inducing or procuring that Mr Lewis act in breach of his contractual obligations owed to The Chameleon Group'.
Bury is a manufacturer of car kits, including handsfree devices.
Chameleon is a distributor for both Bury and Parrot car kits, while Chameleon Group is also a major installer of car kits, claiming to have fitted over one million units in the UK.
