Carphone Warehouse will be the exclusive stockist of the first official XFactor smartphone, the Nokia 5228.
The smartphone, which costs £69.99, comes with backstage gossip, tips from the contestants’ voice coaches as well as unseen footage from the shows.
It boasts a 3.2 inch touch-screen for users to watch video clips from the show and remember favourite moments from past series, including Jedward’s famous rendition of ‘Ghostbusters’ and the best of the worst auditions.
Pictures, wallpapers and ringtones are also pre-installed. Meanwhile, a live app allows users to exchange views with fellow fans, rate the talent and save their favourite moments from the show.
Matt Stringer, UK MD of Carphone Warehouse, said: ‘We are huge fans of The X Factor, which is why we are so excited to be able to deliver live and exclusive content to our customers on a smartphone that already has impressive music features. It’s fantastic to have backstage gossip, videos and live interaction with The X Factor house at your fingertips on a phone that is great for social networking, so fans can stay in touch and enjoy all of the action together.’
Meanwhile, Carphone will tomorrow launch new colour variants of the Samsung Tocco Lite, including: ‘Mysterious Black’ and ‘Flirty Pink’; limited edition ‘Daring Gold’ and Sassy Red; and exclusive ‘Cool Platinum.’ The silver, black and pink versions will be available from 5 October 2010, with the others following in November 2010. All will be available from free on a £10 per month contract or for £49.95 on pay-as-you-go.
