Orange and T-Mobile joint roaming starts
Orange and T-Mobile customers are able to opt-in to roam on both networks from 5 October as a result of the joint venture that created Everything Everywhere.

Both operators are contacting customers to inform them that they can use both networks if they opt-in.

The option to use both networks was seen as an inevitable result of the creation of Everything Everywhere.

The operator’s first announced that customers could start using both networks in September. At the time, Everything Everywhere CEO Tom Alexander said: ‘We see this as a step change for Everything Everywhere.’

From next year, roaming across both networks will take place automatically.

Customer support teams from both brands have been trained to help launch the service, while Everything Everywhere will soon launch an advertising campaign.

Everything Everywhere said: ‘We're really excited about giving customers the benefit of two networks, and as we're giving them the chance to make calls and send texts in more places for no extra cost, we're expecting a lot of interest. Eventually we'd like to have all our customers accessing two networks, but we haven't set any targets in the short term.’
