HTC profits almost double
Taiwanese manufacturer HTC’s profit has almost doubled year on year from NT$5,695 billion to NT$ 11,098 million (£226.6m) during the third quarter ended 30 September.
The manufacturer also saw revenue double to NT$ 75,849 million (£1.5m) during the period. HTC recently launched several new Android devices, including the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire Z.
HTC also announced a new service, HTCSense.com, which allows customers to access information on their handset remotely through a computer.
At the time of the announcement, CCS Insight analyst Ben Wood said that the manufacturer had re-enforced its position as a leading Android manufacturer with the step into cloud services.
