Virgin adds new handsets to £8.50 tariff

Virgin Media has announced five new handsets on its value £8.50 tariff, available to new and existing customers on a 24 month contract.

The company has added the special edition Nokia 5230 Chrome, Nokia X2, Nokia 6700 Slide in silver or pink, Samsung Monte in pink or black and the Samsung Tocco.

The tariff includes 100 minutes and 100 texts, with existing Virgin Media customers also benefiting from free calls from their home phones and unlimited calls to other Virgin Mobiles.

Music handset the Nokia X2 comes with 2GB memory card, a five-megapixel camera with flash and a dedicated Facebook app.

The Nokia 5230 Chrome has a large touch-screen and comes with built-in GPS so it can be used as a fully functional satellite navigation unit, coming pre-loaded with Nokia’s Ovi Maps.

The Nokia 6700 Slide comes with instant access to apps through the Nokia Ovi store and built-in 3G connectivity. It will be available from November.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Monte is set up with dedicated social networking widgets.

For a limited time only, Virgin Media is also bringing back the Samsung Tocco in silver.
