Carphone Warehouse has appointed training specialist Verridian to improve its staff members’ knowledge of smartphones.
The training delivered by Verridian has already begun and 1,000 Carphone Warehouse managers have undertaken the course.
The move follows the retailer’s launch of a new initiative called ‘Walk Out Working’, which aims to have customers’ handsets set-up and fully working before they leave the store.
Carphone Warehouse retail and learning development manager Richard Priddlesaid: ‘The surge in demand for smartphones and tablet devices has revolutionised the mobile market, and we want to ensure that Carphone Warehouse customers continue to receive the best customer service and support available.’
Verridian also works with O2, Phones 4U and Nokia. Verridian account manager Simon Fort said: ‘Our training team has taken time to understand the culture, values and critical success factors for the Carphone Warehouse’s smartphone vision, and a training package has been developed based on this to provide the best engagement experience possible.’
The retailer has put in place a strategy to become an all round service provider, dubbed ‘HAACS’. The strategy focuses on handsets, accessories, content, connections and services.
