BillMonitor website to move into b2b
Price comparison website BillMonitor is planning to add b2b deals to its remit.
The watchdog could also monitor other deals offered by mobile operators, such as fixed-line, broadband and bundled services.
The Ofcom accredited service told Mobile it wants to broaden its bill monitoring service beyond mobile.
BillMonitor data analyst Ben Jeffery said new price monitoring services were ‘on the roadmap’.
He added: ‘Eventually we will look at other services. We will probably look at b2b next but we want to nail mobile first.’
The watchdog is launching a new service, called ‘MyBillMonitor’, early next year, which will advise customers on how to reduce the cost of their existing contracts on a monthly basis.
Jeffery said: ‘If you have a tariff which is too high for you it will let you know what you should do based on your network’s restrictions.
At the same time it gives you an overview of your bill and how you are using your allowances.’
Jeffrey said the service ‘will probably launch on one network at first – possibly Orange’.
A pay-as-you-go monitoring service is also on the horizon. Jeffrey said: ‘This is our number one query from customers – whether to be on contract or on pay-as-you-go.’
BillMonitor customers are also showing increasing interest in Sim-only deals, Jeffery said. The company estimates that customers willing to keep their existing handset using a Sim-only tariff can save 91%, amounting to an average of £216 per year.
Jeffery said its services did not necessarily increase churn, since it also includes helping customers find better deals under their existing network provider.
