LG targets 30% increase in phone sales
LG is targeting a 30% increase in sales to 150 million phones this year, the manufacturer announced at Mobile World Congress.
The Korean company is targeting a four-fold increase in smartphone sales to 30 million units and 50% of its revenues. Smartphones will account for 20% of total sales.
LG plans to launch 20 smartphones globally in 2011 to help it achieve this goal.
It will introduce dual-core processors, LTE and 3D technology for its high-end smartphones.
The company will also improve its content and services through partnerships with content providers, with a series of 3D games and movies available through LG Apps.
Yesterday LG unveiled its first tablet, the Optimus Pad, and a 3D handset, the Optimus 3D.
